CONSULTATIOn

The Contrary Garden is happy to talk to you about your garden space and how it can be used to create a wonderful garden that is not only good for the soul but also environmentally friendly, and aesthetically beautiful. For those who are happy to do all the work themselves, and are just wanting to get ideas for this stage of the design process, this is an extremely beneficial way to proceed.

THE CONCEPT PLAN

This is a very important stage of the garden design process. This plan is drawn to scale (1:50) and organises your garden space so that it reflects your family needs and lifestyle. The best placement of focal points, size of entertaining areas, the position of paths, retaining walls, steps, screens, as well as shape of garden beds is all organised effectively in the concept plan.

THE planting PLAN

This is drawn to scale (1:50) and shows the position and names of all plants to be used in the garden. The Planting Schedule has a listing of both Botanical and Common names, the best pot sizes to be used, and total plant quantities. It also finalises the hard landscaping materials, and includes garden notes. The Planting Plan is an important document because it provides information for accurate pricing by contractors.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The Construction process is more easily managed with Mary watching over the progress of each stage until the job is brought to final completion.

GARDEN CARE

After the garden is installed, Mary is happy to teach you the best ways to care for your plants as they grow so that you can manage your garden easily, or if you prefer, to organise a garden maintenance team to do that for you.
